Medical Terminology Classes

Medical Terminology Classes

Medical terminology is designed to introduce and develop the trainee’s working knowledge of the language in health care and medicine.  Trainees acquire word-building skills by learning word origins, prefixes, suffixes, roots and abbreviations.  Utilizing a body systems approach, the trainee will define, interpret and pronounce medical terms relating to structure and function, pathology, diagnosis, clinical procedures, and pharmacology.  Common abbreviations applicable to each body system will be interpreted. Knowledge of medical terminology enhances a trainee’s ability to successfully secure employment or pursue advanced education in health science.
